We can never obtain peace in the outer world until we make peace with ourselves. Let us come together and create a world where science and progress will lead to all men’s happiness.
जाने क्यूँ तबाह होती हैं मासूम ज़िंदगियाँ,
जाने क्यूँ लोग जंग किया करते हैं;
करते हैं उनके नाम पे कत्ल,
जो हर रूह को पनाह दिया करते हैं;
बाँटते हैं जाने क्यूँ दुनिया को सरहदों में,
और नाम में मज़हब ढूंड लिया करते हैं;
यूँ तो जीते भी मर-मरके हैं अगणित लोग,
पर मरने वालों का क़र्ज़ भी यहाँ ज़िंदा दिया करते हैं;
करके भेद अल्लाह, शिव और ईसा-मसीह में,
जाने क्यूँ उन्हें शर्मिंदा किया करते हैं;
भूल जाते हैं आहुति उन मासूमों की,
के अब ख़्वाब बड़े…पर दिल छोटे हुआ करते हैं;
कर सकते नहीं जिनकी रूह को हम रिहा,
शहादत पे उनकी हम क्यूँ रोया करते हैं;
के मोक्ष मिले हर उस साए को,
जो धर्म-द्वेश की जंग में…बेमौत ही जीते-मरते हैं;
के बेनाम सही पर शहीद हैं वो,
उन वीरों को नमन हम करते हैं…
वीरों को नमन हम करते हैं…
