करके फ़रियाद जाने क्यूँ उसे शर्मिंदा किया करते हैं,
ख़बर जिसे हर राज़-ए-दिल की है,
के हर कामयाबी चूमेगी ख़ुद ही कदम,

Religion is the eternal pursuit of the god; to seek answers and explain the unexplained. Asking for something in lieu of a ritual can’t be god’s own will. God is supposed to be selfless, an ideal for us all. Bhagavad Gita, Chapter 2, Verse: 47 says:-
कर्मण्येवाधिकारस्ते मा फलेषु कदाचन ।
मा कर्मफलहेतुर्भूर्मा ते सङ्गोऽस्त्वकर्मणि ॥ २-४७
***
Karmanye vadhikaraste Ma Phaleshu Kadachana,
Ma Karmaphalaheturbhurma Te Sangostvakarmani.

अर्थात / Meaning:- You have the right to work only but never to its fruits.
Let not the fruits of action be your motive, nor let your attachment to it lead to inaction.
That means you may follow any ritual you want but not for something in return. So the current concept of rituals has already been disqualified centuries ago. I am not against religion; I am not an atheist but not superstitious either. There is a fine line of logic and science between faith and superstition which is getting obscured with each passing day.
There are so many things I do not understand,
So many I cannot explain,
So many uncertainties and so much pain,
A scruple about some things and a question
That resurfaces ever again,
But there is one thing I do not want, just one thing
I choose to refrain,
Don’t ask HIM everything, just the strength
To rise again,
If we are true enough to the cause, there is nothing
We cannot attain…

God is here to help us all and I am sure he knows his job well. He will answer all our calls if we can prove ourselves worthy of it. Instead of asking questions or bribing him, we should just thank him.
Note: Watch the movie “Oh My God” for more insight.
This post is written for Indispire Edition 115: We Indians give too much importance to rituals…visiting a temple on a particular day, fasting for religious reasons…are these relevant in this age? Or they are just a solace to fight our fears and insecurities? #Rituals
I have found the rituals and repetitive prayers said in religious venues to be very meaningless to me. I prefer to talk directly to whomever is in charge of the Universe (I call him God).

Inspiring words Doc….as always…..For some people, these rituals are a means of inspiration. For others, it is just a matter of sheep following other sheep.

बहुत बहुत सुँदर … दो पंक्तियों में यथार्थ कह डाला ..
